About AISET

In the early 1990's, the resources provided to schools for teachers to educate their pupils about the various roles of animals within society were biased towards certain interested parties. In response to this, the Animals in Schools Education Trust (AISET) was formed and incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act in 1993.

AISET’s principal activity is to promote the various roles of animals in society - including as pets, working animals in the farming sector and roles in research, teaching and testing - through the provision of resources designed by teachers that are both balanced and promote the care and welfare of animals in all of these roles.

AISET's mission

AISET believes that teaching our young people about the importance of animal welfare will have a positive effect on their care for animals and one another. As such, AISET's mission is to gain acceptance by school pupils of the obligation to have concern for the welfare of animals of all species and to obtain a balanced view of people’s relationship with animals.
